[Application]:

MnO is used to produce ferrite, as a paint and varnish drying agent, as an alcohol catalyst and feed assistant agent, and during production of micro-element fertilizer. Also, MnO is used to manufacture dry battery cells; as a component of synthetic industrial catalysts and antioxidants; as an enamel coloring/cleaning agent in the glass industry; and for Ferrum removal. Manganese additionally has applications as a specialized alloy, and in the production of ferromanganese castings, gas masks, ferrite materials for electronics, etc. Lastly, manganese is used industrially to increase the viscosity of rubber. (Note: the higher the Mn content, the greener the product’s color.)
